The  Socratic Commute: An Observational Study

Empty Bus Seat

Welcome to the Experiment
They say that "knowledge, real knowledge, is problematic the moment we start trying to nail it down" (D'Agata 132). If that’s true, then this blog isn't a collection of cold, hard facts—it’s an attempt.

The word essay literally means "to try," and over the next few weeks, that is exactly what I’ll be doing. Whether I am digging into the "flawed memory" of a personal memoir or acting as a live camera for an observational study, my goal isn't to provide a sterile report like a science textbook (Matthews 112). Instead, I’m looking for the "emotional truth" hidden in the mundane.

Expect stories that blend the rigorous nature of an essay with the "lyric poetry" of everyday life (D'Agata 130). This is my reality, shaped by my own perspective, recorded in real-time. Thanks for joining the experiment.
